Should I be offended by this man's comment?

I don't think he meant it in a mean way! I think he was just trying to make conversation, and when you have the qualities of a home schooled child, he probably thought that you guys could talk that way. And maybe he had been home schooled so he could relate. But i wouldn't take what he said too personally. But if it does offend you, I would try to open up and talk more and be more outgoing, like starting the conversations, instead of others starting them. And try to make eye contact more, it lets people know you're listening to what they have to say, and you would seem less socially awkward. <3
