How should i ask this girl to hang out?

i have been talking to this girl on facebook. i got her number and we texted a few times this pas week. i just graduated high school, and she will be a sophmore, we never met in school. aside from asking her out i have no way of meeting her personally. until i sa she was attending the local carnival next week. im thinking of asking if shes goining, then say well so am i we should hang out or i was wondering if you wanted to hang out. her friends will be there, my friends so all awkwardness aside, this is my best bet for a first impression
