Amp Advice for First gig?

Our band is looking to play some shows not huge venues just moderate sized clubs for example the Nile theater in Arizona. I play guitar and scream and was told Vocals are usually covered in small clubs like that and that they usually mic the amps also. So would I need to buy a half stack or would my little 24 Watt amp work mic'd and run through the PA?
